Can someone take me under their wing?

I currently weigh about 237 pounds. I'm 5'5". I work out of my house, so my activity level is low. I honestly don't know where to start with nutrition. Do I count calories, fiber, protein, carbs? I don't want to overwhelm myself with doing it all at once.

I love sweets and battle binge-ing on them every day. What I need is a good, affordable (has to be within a limited grocery budget) plan to follow.

Can someone help me or point me in the right direction?

Try this. It's a good way to get started. It will help you determine which way to go. Good luck!

You need to just start by trying to stay under your calorie goal every day. Don't worry about what types of food you are eating yet. Just stay under your target.

Then, as you become comfortable with that, start looking at making changes - less sugary, salty, processed foods and more fresh and natural ones. There's no need to do it all at once.

Start looking at websites like skinnytaste.com and other healthy eating blogs to get ideas of healthy meals.

If there are specific foods that trigger you, get them out of your house. For me....I can't have Mt. Dew. Ever. Because one can leads to 5 cans a day. So, it's not allowed in my house. If my husband wants one, he has to go get it. But, I can watch my portion control with ice cream, so we keep that with no problems. It's about knowing what your limits are and setting yourself up for success.

    Good Luck!
