spacing out your calories ?

hi everyone i hope you are all good! i have got back into using my fitness pal after a stint on slimming world. anyway i am on 1400 cals per day and i was wondering how to space out my calories. do you just eat when hungry or do you plan your cals out for each meal? i have come up with 1400 - 210 milk for the day = 1190 - 190 breakfast - 400 lunch - 600 dinner does this sound ok or would you change it ? many thanks x

I'm on 1500, I space mine out, I try to keep my snacks under 200, and meals under 400, works out better that way for me to eat small meals.

Personally I prefer a light breakfast and dinner and a larger lunch. I'm not very good about planning meals though- I just wing it mostly, tallying as I go.

i've heard it's better to space out your calories evenly between your meals with the exception of 2 snacks during the day being at about 100-200 calories for the snacks. But, with that said, my dinner is always my largest meal at about 500-600 calories otherwise I am STARVING after dinner. Everyone is different, but this has worked for me

Space it how you want it. Me personally I like for dinner to be my largest meal because I don't eat after 8pm. This way I am not going to bed hungry.

I fly by the seat of my pants and eat when I'm hungry. :) But if I have too light of a dinner, I'm usually hungry again by 8 or 9 pm.

I eat about 5-6 times a day so I usually just divide my current goal by that and aim for equal calories at each, and spacing each an equal amount of time apart.

Honestly, I don't think it effects weight loss how you space it out. So do what makes you feel best throughout the day and keeps you fullest. Whatever you can stick with is the best plan for you!
