For those outside the USA, our currency is printed with "Legal Tender for all debts, public and private"

I just got a bill from a blood testing lab and it states "Credit Card or Cash Payments are not accepted"

I thought legally they are required to accept cash?

Is it a mail-in payment? Pretty sure they're allowed to refuse cash if it's mail-in.

No they don't have to accept cash. They probably don't want to keep cash on hand or make change etc. I have see this in some places. The car tax place in my city doesn't accept cash either. You have to pay by money order, bank issued check, or debit. They don't take credit cards b/c there is a fee with each transaction.
