    Plum & Blueberry Smoothie

May 19, 2012 · Filed Under Blueberry Smoothies, Low Fat Smoothies · Comment

Plums just don’t get enough press so when I found this recipe from Rambling Tart (slightly modified), I thought it would be a nice addition to Smoothieweb.com. Not too sweet; blueberries aren’t high in sugar, and with a squeeze of lemon, this plum smoothie will give you a good boost especially with the protein punch from the Greek yogurt.

If you are skeptical of the power of the plum take this into account from MailOnline, plums are being counted as a new ‘super-food’ by scientists. They plum matched or exceeded blueberries in antioxidants and phytonutrients, which help prevent disease. So with plums and blueberries you are drinking one of the most nutritious and healthiest smoothies you can make.

ViSalus makes any smoothie taste lovely! Only 90 calories :-) Has ALL the nutrition you need throughout the day in it. Low Carbs Low Cal High Protein High Potassium High Fiber. I'll usually add some fresh juice and some frozen fruit, blueberries, mangos, etc. And usually even some spinach :-) WONDERFUL

I make mine with frozen blueberries, almond milk, and some honey. It is not as good as the one I used to make with soy milk but it has less calories with almond milk.

I only like banana smoothies that I make at home. I'm really boring that way.

    1 cup of skim milk
    1/2 a banana
    2 splenda
    1 egg
Some vannila yoghut if you want
    And ice

Blenderise it all, it's yummy and filling. About 200 cals

I drink a smoothie every morning for breakfast. I simply put:
2 Scoops of GSN Vanilla Lean Shake Mix
    8 ounces of cold water
    1 Banana
    1/2 cup of frozen strawberries
    1/4 cup of frozen blackberries

So yummy! You can make it thicker/thinner by adding or subtracting the water amount. Good luck!
