I'm not sure what I should do?

So i've been using this site for a almost a week now, and have been on Weight watchers for 3 weeks. I'm starting to feel really down that i'm not losing like I thought i would.
I've lost and gained the same 3 lbs and i'm watching what I eat and exercising really good. If your familiar with WW I'm using about 25 points a day which is about the 1200 calories a day that this website says I need to lose.
I'm going workingout 5 days a week doing the jillian michaels 30 day shred video. plus i'm walking 3-5 miles everyday. according to my fitness watch i'm burning about 600-800 calories a day. Am I doing to much? not eating enough? What should I do. I was sure I would atleast lose 1-2 lbs a week which would be great if I could. I'm not looking for a miracle but staying the same few lbs is killing me.
Thanks guys,
Sarah

I feel you. I have been on this website for about a month now and I have lost the same 5lbs. I was so frustrated and started to slack in my exercise routine. It was really frustrating until I meaured myself and then I realized that even though the pounds aren't coming off like I hoped, I am losing inches. I am getting back on the wagon now and hoping the pounds start disappearing like the inches. Everyone keeps telling me muscle weighs more than fat but I don't buy that. I know how you feel. I had hoped I would have made more progress by now.0

Keep at it - that is the best thing to do and you will see results. I started in June and did exactly what you are both describing. It was over a month before I really started seeing results, they will come.0

I do WW too, I am at 30 points a day. I had been successful in the past on WW, and then came here and used this site instead of going to meetings. I'd faithfully log my food, exercise, eat my exercise calories, everything...but it wasn't coming off! Just a few weeks ago, I told myself I was going to go back to what I used to do: count points, and not eat my activity points. That was really helping me before. So that's what I do now...I log every bite of food and every minute of exercise, and I don't eat my 35 extra points over the course of the week. 30 points a day, and that's that. And it's working, I lost 2 lbs this week. You just gotta have faith and patience, and tweak it until you learn what's good for you...maybe you need a few points more. Do you eat your activity points?
And I also don't eat any of that junky WW food, not their frozen stuff or their treats. It's got so much other junk in it. I realized that most of the WW people are just trying to get as much food for as little points as possible, instead of fully focusing on eating healthy. Their snacks and frozen dinners are not. If I want a treat, I'll eat a correct serving of full fat ice cream, enjoy it, and move on. Half a cup of full fat ice cream is way more enjoyable that a cup of fat free anything!0 -
congrats on your determination and all that exercise!!
BUT...
you're allowing yourself 1200 calories a day, yet burning 500-600 cals?!
i believe your body is going into starvation mode.
the more you exercise, the more you have to eat if you want to remain at 1200 calories a day..
research this issue on the message boards here.
good luck0 -
Burning 600 cals and not eating any of them back is not safe. I've been on WW and liked it, but even it recommends eating your earned points. Your body need the fuel! Stoke that fire and it will do it's job. The lbs will melt away, it just takes time. Good luck:flowerforyou:0

Are you eating your exercise calories? If not, that means you're only netting between 400-600 calories a day, which is not enough.
Eat your exercise calories and see where you're at in a couple of weeks.0 -
If you eat 1200 cals then burn 600-800 cala exercising then your body is only getting 400-600 net calories (the calories used just to keep your body running). With that deficit your body, most likely, is in starvation mode. In other words, your body is storing as much fuel as it can rather than burning it. There are lots of great threads in the forum describing starvation mode in detail. I'd suggest you read them.
BTW, I'm on 1200 cals per day & eat 50%-100% of my exercise calories every day & have lost 44lbs in 16 weeks.0 -
Thanks for your input, i'm going to research what you all have been talking about. I just hate to think i'm in starvation mode even when i'm not hungry during the day?
I'll keep you updated!

give it more time- You have only been at the workouts a week- Most people don't see results right away- it takes time for your body to catch up with what is going on.
As for Weight Watchers I don't know much about it0 -
I eat my exercise point and I've lost my weight steadily don't deprive ur body!0

Just FYI. . .lack of hunger is a symptom of starvation mode.:flowerforyou:0
