Believe it or not, my main form of cardio is the original Sweatin' to the Oldies- love it. I bike outside, some days I walk the malls, some days I walk around the block, and I do the free videos on exercisetv.tv, sparkpeople.com and YouTube.

Tues - TaeBo (45 mins), Elliptical (10-15 mins)
Wed - Line dancing (40 mins), Couch to 5K

P90x but I replace the cardio days with running and eliptical, as I prefer to workout at the gym over home.

I like to go to aerobic classes at the YMCA during my lunch break. I also like the eliptical, and try to walk to work when i can:) i just bought a pedometer. I try to stay in the 9,000-10,000 steps per day range.

i want to do about four tapes a day and do most days. plus abs every other day. but i have my calories cut to 1200 so i need power drink like biggest losers to keep my energry up i crash for a couple of days than i"m back with it
  • I am doing cardio five times a week. Either in the gym or I go hiking. I need to start some strength training too but at this point I am just trying to lose the lbs and cardio is best for that. I joined a gym and did not think I would like it at first...like I would have to drag myself there, but I am finding that I really like it. It is motivating to see everyone there for the same purpose. Power in numbers :-)

Here's a sample week for me:

Sunday - 60-70 min walk on the Highline Canal trail near my home. (Or, if we're in the mountains for the weekend, a hike on one of the trails there.
Monday - (my day off from work) - same as Sunday

Tues through Friday - after work in our office exercise facility, 45 mins on the treadmill, varying speeds, 2min @3.5 mph followed by 3min @4.o mph. All at a 7.5% grade. Then 20-30 mins on a circuit of 5-6 weight machines doing bench presses, iso-lateral rowing (separate arms), adductor, seated biceps pull-ups, captain's chair vertical leg lifts, triceps push downs, & abductor machine exercises. Generally doing 3 sets of 10-12 reps each. Total time each day 75-80 mins. Trying to keep the muscles confused as to what's coming next.

Saturday - same as Sun & Mon.

I just started a running clinic and I run/walk (not quite a runner yet) 4 days a week. I fill that in with some strength training in the form of pushup/situp/sqaut challenges. In addition I lead a very active life outside of my sendentary job. Tomorrow I'll be doing a day long bike ride with a girlfriend I haven't seen in a while and next weekend I plan on doing a day hike in the Santa Cruz Mountains.

Monday through Saturday I go to Curves in the morning for 45-60 minutes. Then in the afternoon I go for a walk 45-60 minutes. Sometimes I load 140-160 pounds of Kitty Litter in a shopping cart and do my walk at Target or Wal-Mart because it is too hot-cold-rainy to walk outside.
On most Sundays I go for at least a 60 minute walk.

Starting my second round of P90X on October 5.
So right now I am just mixing up different cardio. I have been doing a lot of Core Rhythms these last couple of weeks and I have also started the Couch to 5K program. I have been slowly lossing a pound a week. I feel great.

I run about 3.5 miles at least 4 days per week but I try to do it everyday. I weight train 5 days per week (Chest, shoulders, back, arms, legs) for 20-30 min and do abs 3 days per week.

Sundays I work out with my trainer for an hour and we take the dogs for a 45 minute walk
Mondays - walk the dogs for 35 minutes and walk at lunch for 30 minutes
Tuesdays - elliptical at the gym for 40 minutes - abs - night aquafit class
Wednesdays - 15 minutes elliptical and 25 upper body weight training and abs
Thursdays - 20 minutes elliptical and 20 minutes lower body work out and abs
Either Wednesday or Thursday night is a 1 hour power walking with my walking club
Friday - 35 minute walk with the dogs - maybe a 30 minute walk at lunch
Saturday 70 minutes power walking or an hour on the elliptical as well as a 45 minute walk for the dogs.

Tuesdays - Thursdays my husband runs with the dogs so they still get their exercise!

I used to do just spin or running about 4-5 days a week but now I am doing HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training). Sometimes my workouts are up to an hour but sometimes they are done in about 15 minutes but my heart rate is very high. This HIIT is really working for me. I encourage those with a busy schedule to look into it. I am thinking Jillian's dvds are similar since I think some of them are only for 20 minutes.
