BB Shoulder press

I tried both seated BB shoulder press as well as standing. But the weights I can lift in both positions are ... confusing. Standing I can lift 3x more than what I can do seated. How do you explain this? What muscles these lifts use? I am suspecting may be a certain muscle that is primarily used in a seated BBSP is not strong enough. Another diff is the seated BB at my gym uses a longer bar than the one I use for standing press. Does that make the difference? Is it generally harder to do a seated press? Or am I not using the proper form while seated?
Would appreciate some pointers!
