Dealing with Seasonal Changes and fitness

So, I have made a good run of it so far - committed to improving my health in January of this year, changed my lifestyle, dropped about 35 pounds and it's been a really rewarding, fulfilling ride to better health.
But in the past, I always seem to get derailed when the season changes - not so much Winter to Spring - that usually charges me up, more summer to Fall. I absolutely love the Fall - it is my favorite time of year - but I definitely feel a biological change in my body. I crave more sleep and fatty, high calorie foods and it is a struggle to keep my workouts intense. This generally begins in late August when the days start to get noticeably shorter and the crickets and cicadas start to fade.
Any fit folks experience this too? How do you deal with it? I am committed to having a Fit Fall this year for a change!
Thanks
