Will I put this back on?

Hey guys,
I've recently suffered from food poisoning, and it's been an awful experience but I'm slowly getting better. Out of this though, came one good thing - I finally broke my plateau. I've been trying for months and nothing has really happened. I'm trying to see this as the silver lining to my little mishap.
Will I put this weight back on once I recover? Is there anyway I can keep it off while getting back into a normal eating pattern? I'm so glad I'm getting better but I was actually quite emotional over breaking this plateau - I thought I would be there forever.

It depends on how long you were thrown off for. The most likely explanation is that you weigh less because your internal contents are lighter (without going into details, you're "empty"). You probably also had a severe calorie restriction and that may have caused SOME additional weight loss.
Ultimately, (not to side-step your question) it's irrelevant. You should resume your plan per normal regardless.0
