Roller Girl Trying to Save Knees

Hi! I am a roller derby girl from the Pacific Northwest, and I am trying to save my self image, and my knees.
My weight problem had never been an issue while skating. I was not as fast as skinny girls, but I took and gave really big hits. I had a life changing fall 9 months ago that resulted in surgery 7 months ago. I see now that I am not going to be able to recover or skate very well without losing at least 60 pounds. I owe it to my knees, my self esteem, and my health.
Here I go on this journey. Share with me your story!

I've been playing roller derby for two months (still a fresh meat)! I am a bit overweight and would like to lose some in order to improve my results on track. I'm adding you as a friend here! It's awesome to have another roller girl as a friend.0
