Easiest way to log custom recipes such as sauces

Hi,

So today on my wrap I had some red wine sauce that I made earlier in the week. It uses onions, wine, sugar, garlic, paprika, salt etc. What is the easiest way to log something like this?

Is it best to go through the database and add the right amounts of each ingredient to say dinner, then save it as a meal (then delete it from the dinner). Or can we make custom foods using ingriedients, I had a look but the my food seems to be to input one item that you know all nutrition info about. Or do I use the recipe tab?

Cheers.

you can make custom recipes. Under the food tab, go to recipes and create your own. I do it all the time. I even did one for my sub sandwich from subway instead of entering each thing. Much easier, especially for casseroles, stews/soups, sauces, etc. I use the recipe creator A LOT

I enter it as a recipe, then add a serving of that recipe to my diary.

OK thanks, I thought that tab was more of a database to read other peoples recipes. Will now go and do that for my smoothie too instead of having it as a meal with the ingredients it consisted of...

The recipe feature is fabulous - especially if you eat the same things often. I even have my daily vitamins as a recipe. So I only have to add one thing in the morning rather than each pill individually. Would work great for smoothies or other things you combine frequently. Plus it is so easy to go in and change it if the next time you make it you do it just a little different.
