HRM Problem

Hi,
The last few times I've used my HRM the transmitter fails at least once during my workout. I clean it after every use and soak the sensors before wearing it as per the instructions. Has anyone else had this problem? Does it mean I need a new chest strap and/or battery? Its a Polar FT7 by the way and I have had it for 7 months. I use it almost everyday for between 1 and 2 hours.

Mine hasn't given me many problems. Have you tried contacting Polar maybe they can help you?0

Could be the battery - I don't have a Polar, but when my New Balance N4 started having similar issues, I replaced the battery in the chest strap and it's been fine ever since.0

I recently started having issues iwth my FT7 as well. Cleaning it after every use has seemed to work but it still gives me sporadic issues.
I bought a new battery but haven't used it yet.0 -

I was going to post about this same topic yesterday but got sick. Anyway yes mine(Polar FT4) has been acting up. I'll get a ok heart rate check before I start my workout & then some times throughout it goes to "00" for a heart rate or I've also had it give me a heart rate of 200+. I wash mine after each use & I've readjust the band width to make it tighter. I've even used some of the electrode cream that Polar recommends for better readings. I was thinking the battery had to be the issue.
I got mine in March wore it practically every day for about 2 hours a day...could it be the battery?? Unfortunately I live oversea & finding an authorized dealer is going to be impossible...just a little worried about replacing the battery the 1st time.
Would love to hear what you find out when you come back.

Sounds like the battery for both of you. Mine lasted longer before I had to change it, but I didn't wear it as often, which would explain that. The way yours are acting is just how mine was though.
Changing the battery is easy, and no need to an authorized dealer. It's pretty straight forward, so you should be able to do it no problem.0
