    Sadly, with the economy with the way it is today, I say safe AND dream! Keep your job for now (the money, health insurance, etc), but put a lot of work and focus into your dream. Once you have developed yourself into a "well-known" photographer where you feel comfortable enough to make that your main source of income, make the transition.
