After awhile of sickness and surgery, im back to the fold and ready to kick some booty. So now i want to burn fat but im not sure the carb intake is good for burning fat. what would be the perfect to get it done.

Im 5'8 and weight 184lbs. I have it setup for 0.5lbs a week.

Your Daily Goal
Calories:1,950
Carbs:195

Try little to no carbohydrate. Carbohydrate provides glucose for the body to burn. Without the glucose the body is forced to burn fatty acids and convert protein to keytone bodies. This increases fat metabolism in a couple of ways. One it retards insulin production allowing for a greater quantity of fatty acid release from the adipose tissue and two forces your body to burn that fat instead of readily available glucose.

This looks fine to me. 40% carbs, 30% fat and protein. I'd just keep at it.

I know what you mean about mfp. It's very...determined...that you follow it's preconceptions. However you can change your macros to whatever level you want. Well, within reason that is. I just switched mine this morning from 55% carbohydrate to 5%. To do that go to your goals and select custom instead of recommended. It then let's you tweak your numbers.

I was stuck at 26 lbs. down for most of a year following mfp's advice. Then I switched to low carb and lost 12 lbs. in two weeks. I tried to do no carb but found it impractical.
