Hi Everyone,

As of right now, I have been doing some form of cardio about 6x a week. I have been thirking about incorporating weight training. I am just wondering, if my weight loss will slow at first when I begin doing weight training and less cardio?

Thanks!

i don't know the answer to this question but my guess is that it might somewhat slow down. however, i think the benefits you get from weight training are definitely worth it no matter what. i lift, and i'm losing, but not very fast. however.. i'm not so good at staying under calorie goals so that's prob why for me.

Well you should technically be concerned with fat loss vs weight loss. You will probably add 5lbs or so of "weight" from muscle size increase. The fat loss is a product of calories ingested vs calories burned. You might have to adjust something a bit, but nothing major. Here is a ton of info on "doing it right."

You will probably be adding some weight in the form of muscle, but if you're still losing fat it might not be noticable. If you're measuring inches you'll probably see a bigger difference there.

I do notice that I weigh 2-3 lbs more after my strength training workouts, because of water retention, so maybe wait a couple of days to weigh yourself after you work out.

Obviously you still have to watch calories in vs. out if you want to lose weight.

Ok thankyou. I will check out that website.

I guess I was just concerned because I still have a lot of weight I want to lose and so obv want to see more weight/fat loss as well as inches!
