So what are your "quick calories"?

I've seen people use the quick calories feature, and I was curious. I use it when I'm just guessing how many calories I've eaten. Like, I'm at a party, and I have a little of this, a little of that, but I'm not keeping track by sitting down and figuring out exactly how many calories there are in 3 wheat thins or 1/8 of a quesidilla. So what are your quick calories?

The only time I've used the quick calories was to add something for a shot of tequila used in cooking... Alcohol normally cooks off while cooking but I just wanted to add a small (40cal) amount to reflect that.

I don't use this very often but most of the time its because I feel lazy. Usually its stuff that isn't on my checklist but I have the info and don't feel like searching for it.

I don't use quick cal. But i've realized I can use it to log small salad portions as I eat a set amount every time and know the cal count on it

Usually if I add toppings to a burger, like lettuce, tomato, onion, hot peppers, etc. I know they don't add up to a lot, but throw some calories in there knowing they're obviously something.

And if something like a slice of bread, bagel, pita or whatever is bigger than the serving size, I quick add the extra calories the few extra grams makes.

Eating out. I estimate 1000 calories for lunch/dinner and 500 calories for breakfast unless my breakfast is just a small fruit salad which I'd estimate to be around 80 calories since I leave about half of it.

I wish we had more chain-style restaurants that weren't fast food places. It would be a lot easier to practice self-restraint if I knew I could go somewhere and order a very basic, low cal meal.

I don't use quick add. I count on my diary to hold me accountable and quick add hides things.
  • Usually just for things I add to meals, like butter, ketchup and things like that. Otherwise I much prefer to scan the food so the nutrients are added as well.

I never ever use quick calories. I take the time to remember and track everything I put in my body. With the phone app, there is NO excuse not to besides being plainly lazy.

With a start date of less than 15 days ago, maybe you want to hold back on putting people down until you've been around this block a few times.

So true. I use this feature a good bit, 99% of the time when I am in a hurry or when I feel like I ate a portion more than I should of I just add in some calories just to be on the safe side.

I got the sense he was referring to himself, not putting down all members of the community. Let's chill out. :)

I use quick add when I go out to eat to a restaurant that doesn't offer nutritional information, or is a work dinner, which is usually buffet. Ill guess as close as I can, then quick add maybe 200-300 calories to allow for difference in prep
