I've basically put on weight since i started uni.. it's got me down so much. I used to be a size 8 and could wear anything, and now i'm at a size 12.. it's depressing me loads i don't fit in to any of my favourite clothes and i've tried to lose weight but haven;t been going the right way about it. Recently i've done loads of research which has bought me here, and for the past couple of weeks i've just been eating healthy, counting calories and working out, a lot. i feel much better in myself, i've noticed a smallll change but don't think i've lost any weight so far. It's only been a few weeks so i'm hoping that i'll start seeing results soon. i just need a little motivation!

You can open your diary and then complete strangers can analyze your eating habits? It's all good!0

Hi! First of all please feel free to add me if you want the added support. Secondly, try to remember that you didn't put the weight on in five minutes so it's going to take time to get it off as well. Thirdly, don't let the scale get you down because with all of the hard work that you are already doing it sounds like you've built some muscle, and muscle is heavier than fat. It's this same muscle that's going to contribute to you losing weight. LIke I said earlier, it's going to take time so don't beat yourself up about it!0

I agree. Don't just go by the scale, take measurements as well. That is where you will see more changes, also in how your clothes fit. The little things that you start to notice will be exciting and keep you motivated. Feel free to add me. One other tip...when I feel like indulging in some bad food or not wanting to workout, I read some of the success stories. They keep me in line. I still struggle, but I'm in a way better place than I was 3 months ago!! Good luck with your journey!0

As long as you are exercising, eating your assigned calorie goals and drinking all your water (8 glass min.) you will start seeing changes soon enough. Also the less "overweight" you are, it tends to take a little longer. I noticed ppl who do not have as much to lose start lifting weights and although they may not lose weight they lose lots of inches, and they end up being the size they desire before they are the weight they desire, which is still pretty awesome . YOu will be fine. just be patient and work that body out. Good luck0

In the first stages of a healthy fitness and nutrition program, the results will be INSIDE! Your body will feel really good running on clean foods, so it does it's improvements/repairs from the inside out! Go by how you feel. Soon how you feel and how you look will start to match up!0

Looking at your diary, make sure you drink tons of water. Log it so you know that you did it (and it's fun to see that water cup overloaded!) :-) Also, up your protein. If you don't do meat, have some egg whites. I do omlettes with 4 egg whites and veggies - spinach, tomatoes, zucchini, onion...really, whatever I have onhand that I like. It makes a great meal no matter what time of day it is. Chicken, lean fish and other seafood, and beans will give a bigger dose of protein. Also look at your breads. Some will have more protein than others.0

I checked out your diary for a few days.....are you drinking water and just not recording it? If not, I'd suggest drinking lots and lots of water! Also, you could probably eat a little more. Sounds counter-productive, I know, but a lot of people have found success when they eat all of the calories mfp says too. Do some research on finding your BMR and TDEE. My trainer told me as long as I stay within 100 - 200 cals of my BMR, either way, I'll lose weight. Good luck!0

yes!! i always forget to add the water haha, still getting used to this. but including green tea i probably only drink about 4 cups so i do need to try and drink more. Yeah i did think of upping to calories to the count. just hard to do that without feeling like im over doing it! i'm going to try and add a portion of veg or something to my lunch thankyou!0
