Hi yall. I have been struggling with weight loss since 4th grade. Really. I have always been fat. Looking back on my life I noticed a couple of things.

1. I always tend to lose weight when I am happy.
2. When the happiness is over I eat and eat and eat and gain it back.

My question is WHY? Why when I am happy I can exercise and feel good and lose weight. But, when things go back to normal, I just gain it back??????

UGH

Here's a way to change your thinking for the better! :) Decide that you need to lose weight now so that when things turn around for you months and months from now, you will be a skinny you ready for it!

You have to learn how to channel your happiness into yourself and not because a man is the cause. If your happiness leaves when some one departs your life it is not truly happiness!

You have to stop being an emotional eater.
I find if I'm frustrated or angry about something a nice workout gets those "happy feelings" going.
Also if i continue to workout and I get all toned and lose some weight etc then i feel even better about myself.

But eating food isn't going to make you feel better/happier.
Sure for a minute but its a horrible cycle.
    Get out of it!

Have you ever tried going to see a counselor that deals with weight loss as well? Emotional eating is a hard thing to overcome on your own. Also, I agree with feeling happy all the time not based on guys. Guys are just there to cause problems and they should not be the source of your happiness. I still struggle with emotional eating a lot and sometimes I do the reverse if I'm that stressed I'll stop eating. Dealing with the issues first will help to deal with both your general feeling of happiness on your own and also the emotional eating. Keeping a food/emotion log can help too. When you eat foods, describe how you are feeling while you're eating them and that can get you to realize why you are eating a lot or why you eat certain foods. Good luck!
