Date Night Overeating

I went on a date night with hubby last night and overate. I was careful all day (planning for the date) and only went over my daily calorie goal by 850 calories. (I say "only" because I'm very strict about staying under calories every day, so this one time cheat shouldn't have a huge impact.) I was careful to eat a lot of good stuff - salsa, shrimp, veggies, guacamole - but I ate much more than usual and had a margarita.
This morning, when I weighed myself, I weighed 2 pounds less than my lowest weight thus far.
How does that happen? Should I gain when I go over by 850 calories?

Haha, don't question it. Just be happy about it.
That amount would not cause you to gain anything significant overnight anyways. You were probably already at your lowest weight before and it just had no affect on you. Sometimes the body even reacts well to an increase in calories. Just don't look into it too much and drive yourself crazy.0
