WTF Calories in a Good way

So, now that I do not have to spend 5 to 10 minutes per item I eat trying to figure out calories (Thanks MyFitnessPal!), I have been able to log EVERYTHING I have been eating the past several days.
Before this, I had been eating in moderation and going for foods I assumed were healthy and such.
So, what has the past few days taught me? Well, A LOT.
1. I am starting to be able to PLAN my food based on what I need. I can put breakfast and/or lunch in and see what I need and then know what I need to have for dinner. This is fantastic!
2. I was NOT getting enough calories for my weight lifting. I am eating till full at every meal and I am having TROUBLE eating my BMR! Holy cow! I NEVER thought that possible. I had thought that weight loss would always require some significant amounts of hunger throughout the day and feeling unsatisfied with my meals.
Turns out, getting rid of some ultra high calorie items, and throwing in high nutrition items has really made a massive change. For example, for lunch I'd normally go ahead and make a frozen burrito and throw some cheese and salsa on it for a total of well over 500 calories, and would normally be hungry still and throw some tortilla chips + salsa in afterwards! Yesterday, I have a salad (romaine lettuce, 2 radishes, 3 sticks of celery) and a cup of brown rice with 1/4 cup left over orange chicken... was around 350 calories and I had trouble finishing it because I was so full.
Now, I have always been pretty good at determining healthy foods and such, but the difference is that by logging it I see what I need and am able to make choices based off that and it has made a WORLD of difference.
Anyone else experience anything similar?
