* I was gonna post this on the food thread, but its more for fun, not information purposes.

What foods do you prefer name brand, or generic?

I have to have name brand cheese, but won't touch name brand chocolate chip ice cream. Generic is better to me.
name brand Cheetos but generic veggie crackers. Name brand butter, generic cottage cheese ....

    Depends on the product.

Meat/seafood/poultry items according to grade and sale.

All else comes down to the nutritional numbers.

I can do generic frosted flakes. But have to be name brand fruit loops and Capt crunch.
For the kids...I don't eat that anymore .....

Often wonder why even same types of foods I am picky...like the cereal ...?

Generic on staples like rice, pasta, eggs, milk, etc.

Some things are just better name brand.

    Depends.

I'm all about generic. But I do appreciate what the ingredient list says as well. I buy mostly produce so I'm not too worried about it otherwise.

The only thing I always buy name brand is ketchup. It has to be Heinz.
