Kinda Weird NSV

Ok, I know this is a kinda weird topic for a forum, even this one.
I usually like to trim my toenails once a week after showering (once a week trimming not showering LOL). I was just doing so. For years I have blamed my bad back (instead of my fat belly) for having trouble being able to reach my feet to perform this necessary task. As I was about half way through the second foot I realized that I wasn't straining at all to get the job done.
Somehow it hadn't even occurred to me before tonight that this mundane bit of grooming had become much easier lately. I then realized simple things like tying my shoes had also become so much easier to do.
I still have a way to go to finish losing this gut, but already simple tasks have become so much easier without all that fat getting in the way.

I did the same thing with both! I used to get out of breath tying my shoes, but not anymore! I can even put my chin on my knee when I do it! Keep it up! It's those little stupid things that keep me going!0

I'm with you on this one! I admit it, I started wearing slip on sandels whenever possible. When I did wear shoes, I tied them loose, so I could just slip them on. I have back issues too, but after I shed some weight over the past couple of months, I too have an easier time without my gut in the way. Way to go! Keep up the great work!

AWESOME NSV!!!! It's the little things that are really amazing! You never think about trimming nails or tying shoes as being difficult because of weight or whatever, but so glad you are able to feel a difference! Keep up the great work! )0

I agree, what an awesome NSV. I have for a long time become so dependent on the scale that I fail to see the little things that I able to do. If I don't see it on the scale I give up but having joined MFP I realize that little things like these keeps us motivated.0

I know how you feel exactly! I dropped some change at the grocery store the other day, bent right over and picked it up. And then I thought "Wow, that used to be a lot harder!!!" It feels really good, doesnt it?0

Thanks, folks. It really is funny how such simple things become much easier when you aren't burdened by excess fat getting in the way. This is probably the only place where people actually understand that.0
