I had intended on making Turkey Meatloaf, but ran out of time. Instead I patted the mix out into burger patties and it was done in minutes! This is my own recipe, and I hope you enjoy it!
Turkey Burger Patties (makes 5 patties)
A nice change to a burger, or could be bunless for low carb. Delicious by itself without burger toppings, but even better with them!
1 lb. ground turkey (Jeanie-O)
1 Large egg
1/4 cup chopped red bell pepper
1/4 cup chopped yellow onion
3 tsp. dried sage
1/2 cup Italian Style bread crumbs (Walmart Brand)
3 tsp. yellow mustard
3 Tbsp. mayo (with olive oil)
salt and pepper to taste
Heat skillet to medium. In medium bowl combine all ingredients except turkey and bread crumbs. Mix well. Add Turkey and bread crumbs. Use fork or hands to mix ingredients until combined well. Pat into 5 bun size patties. Drizzle olive oil in skillet to keep burgers from sticking. Add burger patties to skillet but do not crowd. I usually cook 3 at a time. Cook 3-5 minutes on each side, or until done. I eat this without a bun or toppings (sort of like meatloaf). You can add toppings without a bun for low carb or go all the way and have a great turkey burger. Don't forget to count your toppings and bun separate on your food log!
1 Burger Patty Per Serving: Cal 267, Fat 12, Carb 11, Protein 24
If you are concerned with the amount of Fat or Carbs use less mayo and breadcrumbs. Be sure to create the recipe under your own food log with the new adjustments. Enjoy!
