Burpee a Day

After listening to Fat2Fit radio podcasts, I learned about the "burpee a day" challenge. You start with one burpee on day one, two burpees on day 2, etc. Obviously at some point you'll have to not add any more each day. Personally, I'm going to see if I can get up to 100 burpees.

Even on day four I'm finding they are getting easier to do.

Anyone else up for the challenge, going up to at least 30?

I did 70 burpees with pauses last week, as it was part of the WOD. It actually wasn't that bad. Maybe I should try doing them with no pauses, and see how many I can do.
  • What is a "Burpee"?

I'm in but I may start a bit further along. Burpees are one of the best all around conditioning exercises you can do!
  • (From Wikipedia)

The burpee is a full body exercise used in strength training and as aerobic exercise. It is performed in four steps, and was originally known as a "four-count Burpee":

    - Begin in a standing position.
    - Drop into a squat position with your hands on the ground. (count 1)
    - Extend your feet back in one quick motion to assume the front plank position. (count 2)
    - Return to the squat position in one quick motion. (count 3)
    - Jump straight into the air as high as possible. (count 4)

    Here's a link to a video demonstrating.

  • Oh, those are "squat-thrusts". Never heard them referred to as burpees before.
