I have tried three different recipes of overnight oats and haven't found one I like yet. I hate plain greek yogurt so after I threw that batch out I substituted applesauce for the yogurt and it was ok, but nothing exciting. I then tried it with cocoa and didn't like it either. Still waiting to find my overnight oat soulmate, because I love the idea and nutirition benefits! Might try it with some chocolate soy milk...0

These recipes with cocoa powder and peanut butter sound amazing. I'm going to have to give those a try.
I generally just add all-natural applesauce and 1 tsp cinnamon to mine.0 -
I am a huge fan of steel cut oats and saw only one post using that type. Does anyone use steel cut oats and greek yogurt as a combination? I think it might be really nice with some cinnamon and am going to give it a whirl. Just curious.0

I actually do a very simple recipe.
1 part oats (various different kinds, Red Mills)
3 parts water and
some dried cranberries. Delish!
If I use Scottish Porridge oats or oatbran oats (finely ground) I usually just put the slow cooker on "keep warm" and they come out perfect. If I use steel cut oats they come out too crunchy that way. So for them I put in one extra measure of water or milk, and put on low heat setting. We got lots of these idea's from an Alton Brown show on oats....in fact this episode:

I make them all of the time, you can pop them in the microwave to make them warm. I think they taste great cold or hot, and it doesn't take overnight to make them either, sometimes I'll make some before dinner so I can have them as my night snack, 2-3 hours is enough time for them to be ready.0

My daughter and her husband absolutely love the overnight oats that she pinned from Pinterest. She makes up a batch on Sunday for the week and has tried several of the different flavor/fruit combinations. I'm looking forward to trying them myself very soon.0

Overnight Oats are my favorite meal of the day!
I always have a serving in the fridge for the next day and make another when I get home from work for the day after the next. I almost always change the ingredients as well from day to day.
You can experiment with the amount of milk to get the consistency that you like.
One of my favorites is
1/2 c oats
1/2 c unsweetened almond milk
1 tbsp FF Greek yogurt
1 scoop Body Fortress Cookies n Cream Advanced Whey Protein
top with fresh fruit of choice
It's like a dessert!
today I had
1/2 c oats
1/2 c almond milk
1 tbsp FF Greek yogurt
1 scoop vanilla whey protein
cinnamon

My new fave recipe:
1/2 c oats 150 cals
1/2 banana yogurt 100
1 cup coconut milk 90
2 tsp chia seeds 45
2tsp coconut sugar 30
1/2 banana, sliced 45
475 cals-of course you can size down the portions a bit for less cals. I find the chia seeds really add to the texture, they make it nice and creamy, while the oats retain their chewiness. So good!0 -

So someone led me to the skinnytaste site and I saw the overnight oats recipe. Also looked it up on youtube. I was wondering if anyone could give feedback on how this tastes? i always eat my oats warm, but making breakfast is a PAIN when you're trying to get out of the door to play "dodge the traffic". Not sure about eating this cold. I'm going to try it anyway, but I'd still love to hear some opinions in the meantime. :flowerforyou:

I love apple cinnamon flavor so I have been doing
1 cup oats - quick oats work too
1/4 cup 2% milk (use whatever you like)
1/2 cup apple sauce
1/2 cup FF plain greek yogurt
1 - 3 teaspoons cinnamon
mix and eat in the morning. Keeps me full until lunch. I have cut out my mid-morning snack since eating this in the morning0 -
well the steel cut oats tasted awful this way. Will try it with regular old fashioned oats.0
