Current fitness routine, rest day in middle needed?

Hi,
Since february I have been going to the gym twice a week and not a lot else. On sunday this week I started the c25k 8week program and am keen to finish that. I am trying to do the following schedule:
Sun = c25k run 1
Mon = gym (~20min cycling, 30mins resistance)
Tue = c25k run 2
Wed = gym (~20min cycling, 30mins resistance)
Thu = c25k run 3
Fri = Day off
Sat = Day off

This is only week 1 so I have followed it but not sure if I will continue to be that goo about it, so might drop 1 day of gym while I do the c25k program (main goal atm is lose fat rather than build muscle anyway).

Is this program set out like this alright? or should I be having a rest day in the middle.

    Do what you can handle... I'm a firm believer that you should make a plan that sounds good, put in your all and see how it works, then adjust as needed. Most likely you will need a rest day or two added in there, where you can entertain other hobbies or focus more on your loved ones, but there's no reason not to shoot a little higher, then see where you fall. Your mental state and physical state will tell you what you need to change after that :)

    Might also consider switching a rest and gym day around so you have rest days spread over the week rather than 2 in a row.
