If you can digest this (it is a very long article with a lot of details), it is very interesting. It picks apart some of the most recent research on various diets and whether they "work" or not. It also, gives an analysis of why some diets work (largely based on calorie restriction which is basically what MFP does), but it dives deeper into how of fats, proteins, and carbohydrates have been tested in the Ornish diet, Skinny *****, Atkins etc... This article doesn't really advocate a particular diet, but attempts to dissect already popular diets.
