New Birthday Tattoo on Friday...need ideas

OK, so I'm getting on the inside of my wrist "Never Slow Down, Never Grow Old" thinking about what picture to get with it, something small, and fitting. I was going to get three little sparrow silhouettes, but I see a LOT of people have them already...any other ideas?

Well, what are some symbols you feel represents the idea? I much prefer symbols over words, but I've seen text look nice too, just depends on the artist. You could do a hummingbird with a flower... The hummingbird is fast and "never slows down" and the flower is eternally blooming.

You should really just go with what you want, its going to be with you for the rest of your life! If you want the sparrows, who cares how many people have them?! Always go with what makes you happy....
I get a lot of ideas off this site:

Why not get only the text now, and then wait until you find something that you do like?

My personal rule of thumb is this: You are welcome to get as many tattoos as you like, BUT... you have to know WHAT you want WHERE you want it for at least two years (yes, two years) before you go and get it. If it changes even a little (color, placement, style), then the timer starts again for two years.

If you're going to get something permanent, you need to make sure that it's what you want before you ever step foot in the shop.

Mind you, I have four tattoos and am waiting on my two years before getting my fifth. I'll be ready for it next summer, assuming I haven't changed my mind at all by then.

Actually I know what I'm getting, and there is no appointment...it's a walk in...

and this isn't my first tattoo either, so I know all about the 'make sure you want it' mantra :)

I think that asking total strangers what you should get for such a personal and permanent thing as a tattoo is a bit odd. If you don't know what you want....wait until you do

I didn't say I was going to ACTUALLY get what someone suggest, just looking for suggestions..

Do you have anything small that has special meaning to you? I got a dogwood flower on my wrist because of the dogwood tree my parents had in front of their house. It was planted the year I was born.

Oh BLAH! It's kinda fun to do it on the fly! That's why they have designs EVERYWHERE in the shop!

That's quite a bit of text to have on your wrist, + a picture?
    Seems like quite a bit..

Yes and then you end up like a friend I had who got some sort of a heart on her ankle that now looks like a moldy strawberry. Why? Because she walked into the tattoo parlor, flipped through a book and decided at that second "Yeah! I want a tattoo!"

I don't have any tattoos nor will I ever get any but IMO they're pretty personal. I couldn't see myself walking into a shop and just randomly getting something that someone else designed and everyone probably has. Since it's something that I'd have for life I'd want to make sure it was something artistic and unique.

about that size text, and was thinking first of adding something like this in between the two lines of text...

not really sure what type of person you are but personally i get tattoos with very deep meaning, and sometimes they come from video games hahaha. anyway that being said, for me i would go with the heavens mirror flower(s) aka death lights from eternal sonata, which is a flower that is "not the same as everyone else" in the way that it blooms at night with the light it absorbs through the day, so there you go, pretty sure no one, or at least not many people at all have that, so you should be original there, though a bit geeky you have a double meaning behind it. also i'm sure you can find more info on it if you are interested at all but hey, thats my idea and here is a little picture of them with a tiny bit of backstory on it, not a great amount of info and not the best picture but you can search it longer than the first thing that popped up for me if you want :P http://eternalsonata.wikia.com/wiki/Heaven's_Mirror

Dude... getting a tattoo just for the sake of having a tattoo... I dunno. Seeing those mistakes are the reason I have anti-tattoo tendencies.

Um, who said I was getting it just 'for the sake of having a tattoo'? I sure didn't.... The quote actually holds great meaning for me, and I've been planning to get it for over a year

Man, I do owe you an apology. See, it's very early and I still need my coffee, but I'd only read the title of your post and not the actual content. I realize now that there's more to it than someone asking the Internet what they should have permanently tattooed on their body. This is the first and last time I'll ever respond to a post before reading it! I figured the content would only further upset me. It's a bit of a sensitive issue for me, I guess.

    Anyways, carry on

Perfect symbol, he never slows down and he hasn't aged since like 1945 or when ever he was first introduced =]

don't get it until you're 100% sure and comfortable with the idea of having it forever.
you can always get the script now, and add to it later.
