I'm drawing a blank on challenge ideas, though. :indifferent:

    Looks great!

In an effort to boost our thread, how about a challenge that we all post something to the thread daily!! Let's talk about our workouts, our proud moments, fitness information, etc.

Or, we could do the water challenge, workout challenge, fruit & veggie challenge...

Thank you for taking this on. Now i need to get my butt in gear.

Does anyone else feel its easier to exercise in the winter?? I don't know why. I love to walk and run but with the kids I just can't find time. With the kids in school I can find a little more time. Weird.

I like the posting challenge ... I've been slacking!

Sooooo, here's my little update! Today, my tire got a screw in it. Luckily, there's a shop right beside my work. So I dropped it off and walked myself - and my coffee - to my office. I have an unofficial website launch party to go to at 11... and it's going to be catered. I'm just hoping they have salad. I didn't do too well yesterday... I had to visit my grandparent's and they always have goodies and always make you feel guilty if you don't "eat something!" So, I obliged. Worked out yesterday evening, but need to work out more today. I'm up to almost 40 minutes on the elliptical... but, it's kind of disheartening when you weigh less and burn less calories doing more of something.

My goals for the day areeee... 40 minutes on the elliptical, 8 glasses of water (at least) and avoiding any yummies they have at the launch party.

I try to exercise first thing in the morning before the kids get up--doesn't always work, but it is easier that way. I actually have a "fence" baby gate that is set up around my treadmill so that I don't have to worry about my almost 2 year old getting close while I am on it. It has been my saving grace!

I think a daily posting is a great idea for a challenge. Lets all set a goal for the day and then report back on how we did.

My goal today is to eat at least two vegetable servings as I have been severely lacking in that department!

We should find out on the short sale that we have an offer on in the next week. I am pretending that we are moving though going through each room dejunking and boxing up the extra stuff. Yesterday I found a huge spider :sad: in my sewing room, it hasn't been that long since I had been in there but it really had set up shop. I couldn't get myself to go back in to get it. Luckily my husband rescued me when he got home. I hope I don't find any more as it really makes me feel that I don't keep house very well. My goal this weekend as the kids don't have school today or tomorrow is to finish dejunking and have a spotless house for the weekend.

    Lets have a great day!

    Hello Blue Team!!

Great to see you all as well as a new "face" - welcome Taradise!

I'm actually taking a rest day today, as I've been very busy exercising all week. I really could use a nap, can I make that a goal?? With 2 little ones, it really is an accomplishment!!

debnu, I love your idea of putting the fence around your treadmill! I usually have to wait for my youngest to go to sleep to turn the TM on.

leigh, I'm glad that things worked out with your tire, good thing that you were so close to work!

Good luck to all of you on meeting your goals for today!!

sanifrey - unfortunately, it had to be replaced! There was a piece of metal in it, too, and the hole couldn't be plugged. Oh well, LOL, I have a new tire now! Good luck with your rest day - I'm sure you need it!! :flowerforyou:

    Taradise - welcome!!! :drinker:

debnu1 - LOL, your treadmill story gave me a hilarious mental picture. You should make a sign that says "Mommy Zone"

Maybe I will make a sign. I have been asked if that is where I go when I get in trouble. It works for me though. I am sorry your tire had to be replaced, but at least it shouldn't give you any trouble now.

So far I have done well on my eating vegies goal I actually had a salad with lunch it had cauliflower and broccoli sticks (the stem of the broccoli, peeled and sliced) It tasted really good! Now I am sooo full I am thinking I won't eat much dinner!

Good job on the veggies!! They really do fill you up.

I didn't get my workout in tonight ... too much to do! But ... I did make some yummy tilapia for dinner. :smooched:

Welcome back chrissy! Even weight after traveling is always good. For some reason I feel that I always gain.

brendahenry you are welcome--all you do to join a team is what you have done!

My goal for today run 0.9 miles without stopping at 5mph--I am gradually increasing the amount I run to see how far I can go. Also I think I will go for 3 servings of vegies. The two servings yesterday went really easy. I guess you just have to think about it!

In an effort to save money I have been trying to live off of my food storage. I have been a food hoarder in a way for a long time. I eat because if I don't I might not get any (large family syndrome) and I picked up the stock up habit from my mom as she used to do a shopping trip once a month. It doesn't work so well if you eat out and go to the store at least once a week. By living off what we have I am trying to teach myself balance and see how little I really can spend. (I hope to get all my expenses down to only $500 for the month, we used to spend that much just on fast food) Actually I just want more money in the bank and less food to move if we end up moving.

Hope everyone has a great day and good luck on your goals!

I am needing help with the motivation. :blushing: I think I have completely lost track of what I need to be doing. I know why I want to lose weight. I know where I want to get. I even know what I need to do to get there. That isn't the problem. The difficulty is translating my knowledge to every day life. I have a good habit of exercise. The difficulty is my eating habits. I don't like to be hungry. I love to bake. I really love to cook for people. Namely hubby of course, who likes to eat too. I love to eat also. I am an emotional eater, if I am bored, lonely, angry, upset what ever I will eat. I have this uncanny nack--from my father who is now diabetic-to eat things even if it doesn't taste good anymore. (I'm not nearly as bad as he is though he eats some crazy things!) I am really good about my fiber intake, I just don't know how to get myself to be good about the rest. When I lost my initial weight I stopped baking completely. Now I have gained some back and I have been back in the baking scene. I don't want to stop it completely. I rather enjoy cooking for others infact I probably take some of my identity from that. I guess what I am saying is that I need help learning the moderation--I don't want to give it all up--but I want the lean sexy body too. Any suggestions?

Sorry for the tirade--I just woke up feeling as though I have not been accomplishing what I need to.
I did good on my vegies yesterday, and I even ran the 0.9 min straight. I actually ran at 8 mph for 30 sec. I thought I would try it BL style. It is kinda fun!

Today's goal is to reevaluate my goals, repost them and figure out how to get over my mental issues.

I think the cage would probably serve as a great protection from Jillian's wrath.

Hang in there girl!! Is there a way that you can bake & distribute the goodies immediately & freeze your "leftovers". Also, is there anything that you bake that is not tempting to you?? Boy, that sounds silly, when I read it back, because I never met a cake, cookie or muffin that I didn't like!! But, seriously, is there anything that you can do?? I've heard subsituting apple sauce for the oil helps lower the cals & fat... ...
On a positive note - grerat job on those veggies yesterday & running BL style!! That had to be awesome!!

    A quick update before breakfast:

-I did W2D2 of the Couch to 5k. It kicked my butt, but I did run a steady 6 mph, for all runs. I really want to finish the program this time. Unforunately, I accidentally whacked the STOP button, and cut my workout in half... so I'm not too positive on how many calories I burned. :grumble:

-I started birth control. Now I have a regular period, which I am on right now. I don't care if it makes my craps worse, I HAVE A PERIOD NOW. (Alright, sorry for the TMI). :flowerforyou:

    - I weighed in this morning at 195... but I'm on my period, so it could be as low as 190 (if I'm lucky). I'm figuring my real weight is about 193, which would put me at 12 pounds lost (my start weight was 205, not 200). :drinker:    :drinker:

-I only got 5 hours of sleep last night. I had a buttload of stuff that I procrastinated on, and ended up finishing it all around 11pm. Then at 5 am, I got up to go to the gym. Naturally, I am exhausted, but I'm hoping that working out this morning will give me a little more energy.

Alright, sorry for the ramble, I'm just trying to squeeze in a few days worth of posts.

    Bonus:
These smilies are just too cute!

    Hey blue team!!

I went out of town this weekend and way over on my calories ... but it was sooooooo worth it. There's nothing like Carolina BBQ!! But, I *did* walk around for about 5 and a half hours at a reptile show ... so that's GOT to count for some kind of calorie burn, right??

I was down 1 pound at my weigh-in on Saturday, making for 42 pounds lost. :drinker: My goal is 8 more by Halloween. I'll be working hard this week!

Sanifrey--thanks for the encouragement. I need to get in the habit of freezing most of the treats (or giving away) that I make. I did that once upon a time. Did you ever have days where you just wanted to give up? If so what did you do to regain that motivation?

It seems we all had a busy weekend. I spent 3 days decluttering my house and ended up with 3 truck loads of things to give away and a truck load of garbage along with having my garbage cans chuck full. It was very cleansing. I have noticed that the appearance of my home has everything to do with my inner thoughts so this weekend has started a major improvement. I never got around to my goal on Saturday(?) so I will do it today. Rework my goals and reasons for losing weight. Never hurts to remember why I am doing this.

I am excited to see the new members! Welcome Welcome!!:drinker:

Here is to a great day! :flowerforyou:

I've definitely had days that I wanted to give up... and even gave up. And now I am on MFP to get rid of the "i gave up" pounds. Don't let this happen to you. You know your weight will just start creeping back up and then one day you'll look in the mirror and no longer be happy with your body. That sets you back to square zero.

Don't let your need to satify the NOW overcome your final goal. Keep your eyes on the prize!!

I think that we all have struggles... things that tempt us & social events that throw us off, but the important thing is to keep coming back!! This weightloss is a journey!! It will take time & it will never be over. We have to "live" & we'll eat the occassioonal cake, pizza & marshmellow fluff, but the important thing is to take responsibility for ourselves & keep coming back!!
I had a bad weekend!! I was craving sweets like crazy & I had them!!! Now, that it's Monday, I got up this morning, got myself & my girls dressed & headed off to step class to burn 300 some calories!! I find that if I work out it definately helps me with my eating habits. It's like if I skip a workout, I just struggle the whole day!
I like Taradise's mention of not giving up, of keeping our eyes on the prize!! Everytime we indulge we have to be willing to work for it, knowing that it's going to be a long road ahead, but it's worth it!! Keep on keepin' on & achieving our goals!
Now, I've gotta get this water down!! :drinker:

Have a great day blue team & don't forget our posting challenge this week!!
