Polar ft7 - men's vs. women's

I've been looking to buy a HRM and have decided on the Polar ft7. However I didn't know that there were specifically men's and women's versions of these HRM's; I thought they were unisex and you inputted your gender along with your other information when you got it. I've found that the men's ft7's are WAY cheaper on amazon than the women's and I was wondering if there was much difference between them, and if I could get away with buying the men's version. Does anyone know if I could do that without problems? Will the HRM assume I am male and overestimate my calorie burn?

For reference, this is the one I'm looking at.

I don't own one but from some quick googling it seems like the color may be the only difference. I think you still input your gender.
