Interesting article on agave "nectar"

Interesting piece on the agave "nectar" and how the food marketing geniuses have fooled us Americans into thinking this is a healthier sugar alternative

http://realfoodforager.com/why-i-never-use-agave/
It is a highly processed operation to convert the carbohydrates into a liquid nectar. This is done using caustic acids, clarifiers and filtration chemicals and results in a syrup that is from 70% – 92% pure fructose — even higher than high fructose corn syrup (which is 55%).

it goes on to give more info about the different sugars and how our bodies metabolize them--an easy read for someone like me that is new to learning about how our bodies use the fuel (or junk) that we put into it.

I recently heard similar from a friend of mine about how agave is basically fructose. I hadn't been using it as I dont really like the taste but it doesnt seem too healthy as a sugar alternative from what I read up on it :/

This is interesting! From what I heard, there is a ton of "superfood" bs about it. The only thing I use it for is tea because I find it tastes like honey but you only have to use half as much. For everything else... there's Stevia.
