been here 9 months today. Where as I have had my struggles and probably should have lost more than 47 pounds by now, I am still here and still fighting to lose this weight once and for all. As a lot of you know I have been struggling since May and gained 7 pounds back, I am just now back to where I was before I gained the 7 pounds,I made up my mind on Sunday September 27, 2009 that I will do this and I have done great this week. I have made up my mind I will eat what I am susposed to eat and I will not go over my calories and I will do my exercise. Nothing is going to keep me from attaining my goal, I will do this. I have made a group in the motivation section, it is called Staying Motivated day to day-prt 1. It is an open group and anyone is welcome to join.it is pretty informal and pretty much anything goes. I find that it is helping me a lot to stay motivated to do what I need to be doing. Anyways, thanks for reading and thanks Mike for creating this site. I don't know if I could have made it this far without MFP. :flowerforyou:

I know how you feel....sometimes I get down about the fact that I should have lost way more than I have by now. But just remember, in the time that it took you to lose 47 pounds, I have only lost 44 (was 46 but last week I gained back 2 ) in a year and a half. So you're doing better than me!

But still, when I get down like that, I just think about the fact that my accomplishments so far are still nothing to sneeze at, and while I could be doing better, I could certainly do worse! I could still be at my starting weight, or worse, I could have gained even more weight!

I think it's excellent that you have this new attutude to stick to things more. You're an inspiration to others who are struggling, like me this week. :flowerforyou:

the 47 pounds you lost is no joke! :drinker: Humans as we are, it's pretty natural to lose the motivation. We just have to get back on the wagon and maybe start on a new perspective and find new inspirations to go on...

Your convictions inspired me.. in fact I'm gonna kick my own butt and exercise right now (which I have been putting off for the past few days lol).. thanks!

Just think if you hadn't started this 9 months ago, you would have still been the same weight or even more. What a success you are!

First, 47 lbs is a lot! Second, think of where you would be now if you hadn't joined 9 months ago. Would you weigh 47 lbs more than you do now? Or 60 lbs more? More than that? Even during those times when I'm tracking my food and not losing weight, I tell myself that the alternative is to gain weight, and I do not want that.

All you can do is your best, and you're doing great!

47 lbs is nothing to sneeze at look at it this way you lost a "small child"! Keep up the good work it will come off and you will feel great about it! I started on this site in Feb 2009 and have seriously buckled dow<i had to change and rewrite how i lived my life and how my family lived there lives and for this I am thankful to this site.
My name is Jeremy and when I started this site i was aboubt 630 lbs probally a little more than that today i weigh in at 451 and still loosin. So you just gotta keep on keepin on,and remember everyday we all have our struggles no matter if it is chocolate or cake or rich rich food( Iuse to be a chef so I know),sometimes you just gotta say NO! No thank you! No, but thank you for the offer! But dont forget to live your life too. In moderation things can be enjoyed.
