How do you know if you're losing muscle?

I've lost 35lbs in the last 4 months and met with a trainer, briefly at the gym as he was selling his services, he did my current bmi and I was at 40% but 35lbs heavier I was at 32%. I was shocked, then I asked myself how do you know if you're losing muscle? I do strength train and cardio 5 days a week.

Hmm. If you strength train sufficiently, you will retain muscle while you lose fat. I'm not sure how your BMI went up after losing 35 pounds?0

I started off juicing for the first two months with no excercise, I had gallstones. I had to have my gallbladder removed so I couldnt' excercise until I was healed. So I'm only 2 months into regular excercise.0
