Just gotta win this battle

Hi everyone.
I am 35 years old and 5ft 8inches. My current weight is 183lbs. I need to be at 150. I have a larger than normal amount of muscle yes i said muscle. i want to lose weight and its is really difficult for me. even reducing my calories to under 1200 a day and exercise i am still having a tough time. i have tried other diets like WW and shake diets with no success. I am monitoring my food and walking 30 mins. a day. I coach soccer and stay pretty active. I am not sure what the breakdown in my body is or the key to losing this weight other than to stop eating all together. Which i have done several times in the past. I have went for 13 days with no food before just water and I do lose weight then, I just cant do that to my stomach again. THe pain is unreal and when you start back to eat its almost unbearable.
So any suggestions from others here would be helpful. I dont know what the answer is but i hope there is help out here.
