Casein vs Whey

Been told to take Casein before bed by my PT (meaning after dinner at some point) because it keeps your body digesting through the night, not giving your metabolism a chance to slow down or stop, then it's raring to go in the morning.
Thoughts? Experiences?
I think my diary is open if you wanted to be nosy and tell me it wouldn't suit my diet.

Not likely to make any real significant difference.....but you can if you want.0

I like casein because it's a lot more filling than whey.
There is some degree of validity to what your trainer is saying, but as said, it's not as much as anyone would have you believe.0 -
All of my serious lifting friends who also compete do this before bed either in the form of casein or other dairy products like cottage cheese up until they cut dairy before a show. I think there must be smoke where there is fire but I think they are light years away from the normal Joe in what they are trying to achieve. I was trying to do it too until I started taking ZMA before bed and it's not good to mix magnesium with calcium for best results so I stopped the dairy at bedtime. If you can find casein you like, I am curious to know what kind...that stuff is like cement! I've tried two and both were nasty.0

I will say it's part of an over all shake up he has me changing a number of different things. Every little helps.0

Casein protein is supposed to be a slower metabolizing protein than whey. It's good to have both on your diet, but honestly, I never go out of my whey to work in the casein. (Get it? Did you see what I did there...?)0

Slower to metabolize as others have said. Theoretically leading to greater uptake. Has no effect on metabolism.0

Thanks to everyone taking the time to reply even to say the opposite of what I've been told. I wasn't looking for yes men I appreciate it.
To people who like to jump on the band wagon and say stupid things like hmmm. Don't bother , give your ego a rest no one wants to hear you sigh. I asked a legitimate question if you can't be constructive then take a night off.
If it was a curious type of hmmm then a little context next time might help and I retract my former statement.
I really do mean big thanks to everyone else. Trollers and bullies just bore me to death.0
