I was wondering if i should stick with the amount of calories I was given.. in my case 1200 and not take in the "earned" calories from excersise. I would think that if I don't eat them i would lose weight quicker, but i don't want my metabilism to slow down either.

Thanks bunches... I am so excited to join there are so many great success stories I am very motivated :ohwell:

    Short answer: Yes. :)

You are already at a caloric deficit - set to lose .5 or 1 or 1.5 or 2 lbs a week. You need to eat the exercise calories in order to fuel your body. 1200 is the least you should be eating - it is most likely below your Basic metabolic Rate (The amount your body uses just to stay alive if you stayed in bed all day). And just eating that many calories may be too little for you.

Again plenty of folks more knowledgeable than I on this subject have posted on this, your mileage may vary.

I cant tell you what to do. But, read that thread that was posted and here is my experience. I ate every single exercise calorie MFP gave me back and I lost a lot of weight fast. If I didn't eat them, I likely would have been so hungry that I would have eaten anything and everything at some point. Your body needs it. Yes, you will lose weight faster on a bigger deficit, but you may end up screwing your body up in the process.

Good luck to you with which ever way you choose to go.
  • Thanks bunches you guy's. It is hard to break the thought process that i need to starve myself to lose the weight. Wahoo! I have all kind of calories for dinner now. So exciting. Probably why it is always so hard for me to lose weight and why when I quit dieting I gain it all back.

I can't wait to lose it and keep it off this time the smart way.

    Thanks for the support.

Wow you two have really lost so much weight ~ i am so impressed and motivated by you both.
