P90X Diet question!

Hello! So I'm doing P90X, I have all the videos from my cousin and I have seen the nutrition guide online (I don't have my own set of the program) and I know that in like the second phase the amount of protein/carb/fat changes, or maybe sometime around the second phase...
My question is HOW important is it that you change your percents of each? I think it's just a small adjustment, like 50% protein to 40% and 30% carb to 40%. I don't have any information with the program so I'm not sure HOW important is.

Anyone NOT change their amounts and still find great results?
Anyone who can give me some insight as to why it needs to change?

:) thanks!

That 50/30/20 in the first phase was too low in carbs for me after the first few weeks. I bonked for about a week until I upped the carbs a little. I stayed close to the 40/40/20 the rest of the way without a problem. You do need carbs to fuel those 6 day per week workouts. I didn't switch up in phase 3, they said if you have fat to lose to remain with 40/40/20. I'm now trying to keep a 40/30/30 diet for the long term.
