I found this site by chance a few weeks ago, and started following it a couple of days ago. So far I really like it. I have read some very informative information on here, which is very exciting to me. i have struggled for quite a few years trying to get into shape, eat right and get healthy. I have spent a lot of money on gyms, personal trainers, WW, Nutrisystem, you name it I have done it. I have sometimes wondered what am I doing wrong, I do everything the trainers say, work out, eat less, diet. But after reading some posts on here, I fully understand what I am doing wrong. I was always taught work out more and eat less, but I was already not eating enough, therefore my body was in starvation mode. It makes sense now. My biggest battle is going to be not eating out as often. I have 3 teenage daughters that are involved in EVERYTHING, my husband and I own our own business, and I am attempting to get my college degree. Did I mention I also just turned 40, another struggle of mine. Anyway, I am always looking for pointers and especially quick, healthy food recipes. If anybody could help, I am willing to try. Looking forward to my new journey!!!!

This journey is simple but hard.
We all kind of know what to do, but it's not easy dieting, exercising and sticking to it.
I tried and failed before finally coming here, doing it right and reaching my goals.
Just read up and follow what they recommend here.
This is how MFP works

And Tips for Newbies
http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/470367-tips-for-newbies
Just get started by going into settings to Update diet/fitness profile.
Set your goals for 1 lb weight loss per week.
NO MORE!
And eat lean meats, low fat dairy, nuts, whole grains, fresh fruits and veggies.
Do both cardio and resistance exercise.
Log in those exercises to your MFP exercise diary.
AND EAT BACK YOUR EXERCISE CALORIES!
Remember, this is not a race, and you can reach your goals if you stick to a good plan as recommended on this site.
You have many people here ready to lend support, answer qustions and discuss any challenges.
You can do this.:flowerforyou:
