Upper body ONLY weight routine for man needed!

Ok, so hubby was working out with me, but he also has a really physical job that requires constant walking, squatting, lunging and lifting. His docs have now told him that his groin muscles are NOT YET herniated, but are headed in that direction. He needs to avoid any weight training that involves those muscles, but it was recommended that he continue upper body lifting. I can put together a routine, but I'd like input from all of you so I can get him the most comprehensive routine possible. He only goes to the gym about 3 times a week, so he'll have no problem taking a day off between lifting days.
