RACE DAY <3

I have a 5k coming up on Saturday. I do one race a month. :) Super fun. But what do y'all do the night before the race? Stretch? Eat carbs? Protein? Whats the best way to prepare?

    I get my gear ready and laid out so im not searching for it in the morning, dont eat anything to heavy or drink alky-hol the night before and have a decent breakfast in the morning.

    My biggest problem is timing my water intake, i want to be hydrated but i dont want to be busting for a wee after 2k :)
  • I don't treat a 5k any different than a workout since it's a pretty short event. If I'm racing a distance or doing an event that will take me longer than 3 hrs then I like to add a sweet potato to my dinner the night before and add some salt.

    For a 5k I don't do anything special the day/night before, other than be sure that I don't eat or drink anything outside of my usual diet, or anything heavy that might bother my stomach the next morning.
    And I try to get a decent night's sleep.
