Okay, so I am sort of new to posting but today I jogged a full on mile!

I've been having some issues with week 5 of the C25K so today I decided I would just get out there and try to jog for an entire mile...and I DID IT! WHOOP :)

Time: 12:50

Hopefully this gives me motivation to push through with week 5!

Just thought I would share :)

I'm on week 5 as well of the C25K, and I'm really loving it. I decided to push myself last week and finally broke that mile mark, so I know how great it feels! Congrats you should be proud. Feel free to add me!

Way to go, totally fantastic NSV. I am on week 1 of C25K (day 3 run tomorrow) and it gives me hope that I can go the full mile when I'm in the later weeks also!

    Congrats.

That was me not too long ago. I remember thinking that I hadn't ran that far since little league where I failed to run out a base hit and touch the first base bag despite being clearly thrown out and had to do laps around the entire park. I'm 42 BTW.

You will get to the point where you run a mile just to warm up before your other carido/weight training. Congratulations!!

Congrats on your mile! Great job.

I am not a big sharer - but I did the Couch to 5K - so I wanted to share my experience.

My investment adviser told me that was how he started and within 11 months - he ran the Chicago Marathon. (Much better discussion than my investments.) I've known this guys years and thought - 'I could do that!' Found the app - and off I went.

I started at New Years and finally finished the 9 weeks in June. (Obviously - the math doesn't add up.) I did week 3, week 5 and week 6 - multiple times. I didn't give up and realized - some people are natural runners - I probably am not. I didn't lose a lot of weight - maybe 3 lbs. From NSV success - I could walk up the 30 stairs at the train station without running out of breath.

After that - I figured there had to be an app for where I was at - which is how I got on MFP. Now the weight is starting to come off. I still keep running as part of my workout 3 days a week. This week - I started adding time and distance on to my 5K. I may never make a marathon - but I feel so much stronger.

My whole point - don't give up. The end of Couch to 5K is not being an avid runner - it is working up to 30 minutes of great cardio activity!

Thank you so much for your words of encouragement. I've repeated weeks as well, and it has taken me about a month and a half - 2 months to get where I am! I am hoping to continue on like you have, adding more distance and time and hoping to challenge myself.

Good luck on all your running adventures!

Excellent! Fair warning......running is addictive and runners have been known to exhibit an unnaturally positive outlook on life.
