Understanding Macros?

Hi there:
My mom (Filhioly) and I (Yep, she's gonna kill me, but go request her as a friend if you'd like. She's sweet and could use a few friends on here) don't understand how to read our macros or if we should set our goals differently. She is mostly trying to decrease weight/body fat and I'm trying to decrease body fat and gain muscle mass.
Her main issue is that, she can have one fruit smoothie for breakfast and she's totally over her sugar intake for the day (ex: two strawberries, handful of blackberries and blueberries). Is this accurate or should she adjust? To what metrics should she adjust?
My main issue is concerning caloric intake. Let's do a little math :noway: If my goal cal intake is 1460 for the day and I've reached 1240, I can take in a total of 220 more calories. If I workout to burn say, 275 calories, my cal intake changes to 965 and it shows that I need to consume 495 more calories to meet my goal. Do I eat 495 more calories or 220 more calories to meet the goal? Holy Moly, too many numbers :explode:
Thanks to anyone that endured that horrendous math problem that I likely screwed up. We appreciate your advice and support.
