Weights: Where do I start

Hello! I have a question about lifting weights. I have never been fit and have never really exercised. I started in April with Zumba and now I do different kinds of cardio, 5 days a week. Mostly videos. I keep reading that I need to do strength training but I don't know where to start. I'm not sure what size weights I should start with etc. I have 40 pounds left to lose! I'd appreciate any advice!
