Calf Cramp

Today I got one of those evil calf cramps that make you want to cry because it hurts so much. It went away in a matter of minutes but I can still feel some tightness on my calf, especially when I walk. I wanted to get some Zumba in today, would it be best to not do that? Any exercise I could do?

    Banana!
Every once in awhile when my body gets low on potassium i get horrible leg cramps at night.... the ones that make you wanna cry. I eat a banana or a half and usually goes away.

Nessie is probably right, but my husband always tells me it's b/c I'm dehydrated. Either way, I usually do my normal routine on it--when it's moving, it doesn't seem to be in as much pain as when I let it sit for awhile. But that's just me. Hope you feel better!

I get them too, I get them when I sleep and I used to get them when I was a competitive swimmer. We've always called them "charlie horses"...potassium could be an issue, but it wasn't my issue. Hydration and stretching were my issues. Stretch, stretch, and stretch some more. I haven't done Zumba, but I know when I get a bad one...usually at night when I'm sleeping, it's sore all day. I don't risk a "re-cramp" by doing anything strenuous that day. But I do stretch. I would drink some coconut water, it can't hurt to eat a banana or kiwi.
