Dairy is not really a necessary food to be honest. The big deal with dairy is that it offers 2 things, protein and calcium, both of which can be obtained by eating other foods. it could be possible that you are lactose (that's the type of sugar found in dairy) intolerant. If this is the case you can switch to soy products, like soy milk and cheese. the cheese is a little more expensive but at least it won't make your belly hurt. And calcium can be obtained through other items. Spinach, sesame seeds, collard greens, broccoli and brazil nuts all have high levels of calcium. Also, backstrap molasses has calcium in it and it's a better sweetener than refined sugar because it keeps your blood sugar steady as opposed to causing spikes.
