my quinoa says that it is 172 calories, 31g carb, 3g fat and 6g protein uncooked. i would like to make 1 cup for myself and was wondering how much i would need to measure out and use in the pot in order to come out to 1 cup? also does anyone know what the nutritional info for 1 cup cooked would be? the brand i use is ancient harvest, if that helps any!

  • Um, all this info should be on the box: serving size, how to cook it, etc.

It is like rice. Usually 1 cup uncooked is 2 cups cooked, so cut it in half if you only want 1 cup cooked. Follow the parts proportion on the package. I think it is 1 part quinoa to 2 parts water but don't quote me.

I cook it at a 1:2 quinoa to water ratio and I think it usually doubles (so, 1/2 cup dry for about 1 cup cooked)

yeah, everytime i cook rice i usually measure it out by tablespoons. i use 3 tablespoons in the pot, for 1 cup cooked :p works pretty well!
