Has anybody done the Asylum yet? I'm nearing the end of my 60-days Insanity program and thinking of either doing Asylum or a hybrid as a 90-day program… Are the two very different? I also heard you need some props?

Asylum is only 30 days and requires a substantial amount of floor and ceiling space if you want to do it right because you have to put down the agility ladder and jump rope. Personally I think it's better than Insanity because it's more logical in its makeup. A lot of Insanity had no real rhyme or reason to it, no real structure. Asylum has real focus to each workout and the plyo moves are more like real plyometrics exercises than just jumping.

Props needed are a jump rope (speed rope preferably, a weighted rope or freestyle rope is not ideal for this) and an agility ladder that is roughly 6 feet long with 5 rungs.

Thanks Contingencypl. I wasn't sure whether a a pull up bar was needed or not. Now I can save money and don't need to drill holes in the wall.

    C'mon sdcohen85, you-can-do-it!

I am starting it next Monday (july 30th), I am just taking a recovery week from x2 me baby hybrid challenge... so recovery then time to have some fun... being smart and doing the resulty/recovery drink... can't wait to start but nervous as well... instead of a pull up bar you can just get resistance bands... not AS good but still a good workout...

pullup bar and weights/resistance bands are a must too. didn't mention them cause i thought that one went without saying since thats how all BB programs are going now.

question...did you think you needed to drills holes for the pull up bar??? I got one that hangs over the door facing and it works perfectly...I was skeptical at first, but its great.
    just wondering :)
