I have never formally introduced myself... I have been on MFP for greater than a year... mainly using it on my phone... but I just started coming to the message boards in the last couple of months...
So... my name is Jenn... I am a nurse in the intensive care... I live in the beautiful Shenandoah valley in Virginia...
I love to bike ride... ahve recently started rock climbing and spelunking and mountain biking...
I was diagnosed with diabetes in 2004... was on multiple oral medicines... I was 340#... I started walking... got a pedometer... my first goal was 1500 steps a day and that was DIFFICULT!!! I started counting calories... my first goal was 3500/day... fast forward to 2012... my goals now are 1700 cals/day... and 100 miles per month... I have lost 70#... it has been slow... and long... in that time I left my husband... went back and finished school... got a job... got fired... was unemployed for six months... got a new job... went through a lot of problems with my children... sent one of them off to away school... going into the teenage years...
I think I can honestly say that this is becoming a lifestyle change for me... I am down to 265... I have about 115 left to loose... I feel good about where I am and how I am doing... and I know that I can get this done!!
