Just a thought.. eating vs. not eating exercise calories

There seems to be a ton of posts swirling about regarding this issue. It seems to me that generally speaking there are three main topics that come up:

1. People seeking info on what to do, or seeking to understand the fundamentals of how the MFP is structured and does its calculations in regards to calories and exercise.
2. People that strongly believe in eating back.
3. People that strongly believe in not eating back.

This is really just a random thought, and I have not looked to see if these things may exist in some form, so if they do I apologize. Please be nice

I think it would be super helpful especially to newcomers, and would greatly reduce the flood of constantly streaming info, questions, and bitter debate that sometimes results in the forums if there were:

1. A pin or sticky (or maybe one for each approach) in a very prominent and easy to find location on the site... It could summarize and explain the pro/con philosophy of eating back exercise calories and the pro/con philosophy of not eating back exercise calories, highlighting the reasoning and points/arguments of each approach. Whenever someone posts a question about it, any veteran viewers can simply point them in the right direction and let people decide for themselves which way seems right for them.

2. Create 2 groups... one for each way of doing it... an "I eat back my exercise calories" group and an "I do not eat back my exercise calories" group. People that are of like opinions on the matter can support each other within the group with topics specific to that point of view.

Perhaps doing so would reduce the amount of repeat info being asked and answered daily, that at times includes bickering and constant nay-saying as to how it should be done.

Like I said... Just a thought. Which came from feeling a bit tired of seeing this hashed and re-hashed over and over and over :glasses:

Cheers

Yeah, I am seeing completely new threads on "1200 calories a day", "Should I lift weights" and others every other day on the right hand side of "My Home". Can't think what other ground hog day threads there are.

yes, this site would benefit from a "how to use it" concise guide. People ask for help and most of the advice is about how to do it differently to MFP is actually set up, the most confusing forum on the net.

I wonder if the main newbie topics should be linked to when you sign up - you get a free email that gives a list of all the good topics (leave that to moderators to decide on what is good).
