"I know you hate vegetables my friend. That's ok, and I can respect that. BUT I love you and *today* you are going to eat some. I have here every vegetable in the world--each of them raw and with nothing added. Pick from 3 to 5 of them NOW and eat them please, or I will have to lovingly blow your head off. Sorry, it's just tough love. You have 10 seconds to decide and start chomping--and no iceberg lettuce or your whole family gets it!! GO! 10.. 9.. 8.."

What three do you pick for "best bang (ha ha) for the buck" in terms of nutritional value in an otherwise meat and dairy rich diet?

Gosh, this guy is being awfully patient (he's counting VERY slowly as he lets me post this!!)

Thanks in advance!

Carrots, broccoli and parsnips (although I don't think I could manage a parsnip raw!)

Perhaps on the day that 14 people died in Colorado at the hands of a gunman, we could have found a different analogy for this thread?

I'm fairly positive the original poster did not intentionally choose those words with that appalling incident in mind... As it did happen very early this morning, I'm sure not everyone has heard the news and is aware of it.

Given that it's raw I would choose: Avocado, Mushroom and baby plum tomatoes. :-) maybe some carrots too.

But otherwise I am a huge fan of vegetables.... my faves include:
baby corn, butternut squash, onions and broccoli.
