Vegetable extremist puts a gun to your head and says...

"I know you hate vegetables my friend. That's ok, and I can respect that. BUT I love you and *today* you are going to eat some. I have here every vegetable in the world--each of them raw and with nothing added. Pick from 3 to 5 of them NOW and eat them please, or I will have to lovingly blow your head off. Sorry, it's just tough love. You have 10 seconds to decide and start chomping--and no iceberg lettuce or your whole family gets it!! GO! 10.. 9.. 8.."
What three do you pick for "best bang (ha ha) for the buck" in terms of nutritional value in an otherwise meat and dairy rich diet?
Gosh, this guy is being awfully patient (he's counting VERY slowly as he lets me post this!!)
Thanks in advance!

I'm fairly positive the original poster did not intentionally choose those words with that appalling incident in mind... As it did happen very early this morning, I'm sure not everyone has heard the news and is aware of it.0 -
